Words can not describe how wonderful The Songbird Ridge B&B is to stay at. The inn keepers go out of their way to make each and every guest feel so special. We love staying in the front bedrooms where we can hear and see the horse and carriages clip clop by. And our most favorite spot is their spacious front porch. What a wonderful place to spend a quite Sunday afternoon. We feel so blessed that we have found our "sanctuary". We were not B&B people, but the Songbird has changed our minds.
All I can say is we didn't want to leave! This was our first visit to Shipshewana plus our first time to stay at a Bed & Breakfast.- we loved everything about it. Gwen and Gene are so welcoming and provide the perfect blend of hospitality and privacy. Their home is lovely!!
Songbird Ridge bed and breakfast is easily the most charming, hospitable, and elegant B & B I have ever stayed at. It's located away from the hustle in a gorgeous farmhouse overlooking green pastures. Inside there is a country homey feel that I feel a lot of B&B's lack. It's very kept up and clean with a beautiful country decor. I have stayed there about 4 or 5 times now and every time I do, I am greeted with the same warm and friendly stay. The owner Gwen, really nows how to make someone feel at home. She also owns a small boutique store across the road filled with beautiful furnishings and decor. If you are ever looking for a beautiful and warm place to stay while visiting Shipshewana or the surrounding areas, Songbird Ridge comes highly recommended by me.
This was the first time I stayed at a B&B. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Gwen and her husband, Gene, were wonderful people to talk to. They know all the best places in town to visit, being raised in the Shipshewana area. Everything was very clean and pleasant and I haven't slept so well in my own bed! The breakfast was light, just fresh muffins, cereal, fruit, cheese and summer sausage, but that's more than enough to keep you full till lunch time. There are several porches to sit on and enjoy watching their animals wonder the impeccable pastures. Gene does a wonderful job keeping the grounds looking as beautiful as the inside of the home. My mom and I are already thinking ahead to our next vacation here!
