Does this look appetizing to you? I think NOT. Does your ice cream get chunky where you can’t hold it... i think BAD. Do waitresses make fun of you after you ask for WiFi... not if your at a good restaurant. This place was definitely the WORST place I’ve ever eaten at. The gravy is chunky, the meat is dry, and the pie tasted like someone had recently regurgitated it. This place is the worst and i only recommend it if you can’t taste or smell ANYTHING
I had the meat loaf, mashed potatoes and green beans. Excellent. Request more of the sweet sauce they put on the meat loaf. I did and it was great. We went early to avoid crowds.
The meatloaf is very plain, green beans tasted liked canned and the Mac and cheese tasted like it came out of the box. Not the homemade style I was expecting. The restaurant was way too busy and crowded. Overall not the best experience. The chicken meal my husband got looked really good for fried chicken and his portion was generous, unlike my meal.
The bakery was awesome! Some of the most amazing pies I have seen! The meringue stacked super high! If eating at this restaurant I highly suggest NOT doing the buffet. The salad bar was okay but the rest of the food was super bland and so not worth the almost twenty dollars a person! Drive to the next town and eat off the buffet at the other hotel for sure!
If you are going to shipshewana then the Blue Gate should definitely be on your list of sites to visit, great food for a low cost. The shop there has some of the best treats. Make sure to pick up a batch of cinnamon rolls, some of the best I ever had.
